Video Games in Hollywood

Alright, so this will be the official thread to talk about anything dealing with game films in Hollywood!

Let's start out by asking what games you have heard are in production and what you think of them.

Prince of Persia
Gears of War
Halo (not cancelled/not in the works/on standby)
World of Warcraft


The only ones I know of for sure

PoP = excited, if anyone watched the VGAs than you could see a trailer for it, looks soooo good
GoW = seen nothing of it so no opinion
Halo = lawl, was supposed to be out in like 06 or 07

Actually, I could see something happening before the events of World of Warcraft. The warcraft universe, pre-WoW of course, was very lore driven and had alot of storyline to tell. It could be focused on Illidan's imprisonment, the invasion of the burning legion, or Arthas' betrayal. And if they wanted to focus on pre-WC3, then they could go back to the roots, when the orcs had first opened the portal to azeroth from the faltering world of draenor.

Yes, I've played all four games and their expansions thoroughly :\ and all of them have a pretty solid storyline in them, including WoW, but to experience that one, you really need to pay attention to EVERYTHING you do and read all of the quest descriptions, etc.

Prince of Persia does seem to be unfolding decently, hopefully it will be one that is well received at the box office. If it does well I can see Hollywood actually trying like they did a bit with the comic based movies...instead of reverting back to what Uwe did with the video game based movies Bloodrayne...gah those sucked so badly.

Uwe had one great film....Postal. Seriously...watch it, he gets shot in it ^^

Never heard of it. What is it actually about?

Well the Postal Dude (or just 'The Dude') and his uncle are trying to pay the taxes (or something similar, haven't watched in awhile) because Uncle Dave hasn't paid them in a few years and owes a few hundred grand so they hatch a plan to steal "Krotchy" dolls....

Ok! well that's where it all gets started
